Au Pied d’Hauto is a lovingly renovated farmhouse located in the quiet hamlet of Le Lavanchy at the foot of Nantaux (Hauto in the local dialect). One of the oldest buildings in the hamlet, an extensive renovation of the building was started in 2021, with two semi-detached apartments completed in late summer 2023. The roof lines and vistas of the building remain essentially the same, with the original wooden frame at the heart of the house.

Le Refuge, the semi-detached rental apartment at Au Pied d’Hauto, is a comfortable blend of old and new, with traditional Savoyard workmanship sitting alongside Nordic-inspired interiors & decoration. A simple elegance that gives a nod not only to its location and heritage but also to the Nordic roots of the owners.
Available to rent year round, Le Refuge Au Pied D’Hauto is a perfect base for everything that the Vallée D’Aulps and the Portes du Soleil have to offer across all four seasons.

Our location
The location, on the edge of Le Lavanchy, is equidistant between the beautiful village of Montriond, and the idyllic tranquility of Lac de Montriond, both of which are within walking distance of the house. We sit on the edge of the small ravine which overlooks the river Dranse as it descends from the lake to merge with the Dranse de Morzine on its journey to join the waters of Lac Leman.
